Damn, reading this is so odd. The last time I updated I was a sophomore and now I'm halfway through my senior year. Then, I was patting myself on the back for changing my major to education, and now I'm student teaching.

If I even tried to list the number of ways my life has changed since September of 2007, I'd blow my own mind and run out of space.

How was this weekend wonderful? Let me count the ways:

1. Four words: root beer keg party. Friday night was amazing- all crazed dance parties should end in a high-volume sing-along to "You Can't Stop the Beat" that culminates in the sorority girls next door asking you to please be quiet. (The party soroity, no less!)

2. Renaissance Festival this morning. Fantastic. It's like an odd mixture of Epcot and the county fair, but with more weirdos running around.

2b. Specific oddballs include the man in the fur pants and loincloth and the crazy burlap-clad geezer who accosted Elisha.

2c. Corsets, wonderful corsets.

3. Free movie posters from the Westerville Library at the First Friday Fesival. Yay for the new "Dreamgirls" posted gracing my wall.

4. Crazed cleaning spree at 2B. I feel accomplished.

5. Lance Burton's magic cape. Need I say more?

And to top it all off, our plant tried to committ suicide tonight. Somehow, it managed to jump out of our 3rd-story window, only to survive the fall. (Our screen is fine too, although Lord knows how we're going to put it back in.)

How, it's been a while. The last time I wrote on here, I was at Otterbein. And now, here I am, back on campus once again! The room is amazing- I'm in a triple room and it's HUGE. Plus, my roommates (Anastasia and Claire) are awesome. We've mostly got the room set up to our liking. The best thing about this room? The tiny random closet by the window in which we put the fridge and microwave. We call it our kitchen. :P

Classes start tomorrow. Yay for all new things that I actually want to learn about! Yay for changing my major to something I think I'll actually enjoy. I have a feeling that I've made the right choice- I've started hording kids books and mentally planning classrooms.

"Fourty, fourty, fourty eight hours to go- I wanna be sedated!"

In 48 hours, I'll be loading the car to come home, and I can't wait. At the same time though, I can't believe my freshman year of collage is almost done. O_o

I need to finish my comm essay tonight for the exam on Tuesday, and to study for said exam. Also, my film final has to be written sometime between now and 5pm on Tuesday. *sigh* So close, yet sooooo far.

And the countdown begins. This time next week, I'll be in the middle of my communications final, my last one of the year.

I'm so ready to be done to the point that I'm almost entirely packed, save for the stuff I'll need for the next week. And I admit, I was a bit over-zealous. I have to keep digging through packed stuff to find various things that I need that already got packed. Oops.

Yet to be finished:

1. Book review for Eng. 275
2. Close-reading paper for Eng. 190
3. Frankenstein final paper for Eng. 190
4. Critical theory final paper for Eng. 190
5. Take-home final for Eng. 275
6. Final essay for Comm. 100

Aaaahhh, so much to do in the next two weeks before I'm done! *tears out hair*

On the upside, I got a paper and 3 loads of wash done tonight.

*sigh* It's sad that my life can be made happy by doing laundry.

Every once in a while, I forget that I have no talent for writing poetry, and attempt it. Maybe it's something about sitting in a park in the sunlight that makes everyone feel that they can write something passable. Even though this seems like a complete contradiction to my last entry, it was actually prompted by it. The first line of "The English Majors" popped into my head during the poetry class from Hell.

I'm not even sure this can be called poetry, but I rather like how it turned out. If it's uber-pretentious, feel free to smack me with a clue-by-four.

I'm thinking about skipping English class tomorrow. This will be the second straight week of poetry, and I simply can't take it any more. Last week, following a 20 minute discussion (and by discussion, I mean Dr. Frick talking at us for 20 minutes) of the imperativness of understanding how to determine unaccented and accented syllables, I finally got the balls to ask why exactly it was imperative that we understand this, as all it seems to do is suck out what little enjoyment poetry inherantly contains. I was told that it's like knowing what's under the hood of a car, and how it works. It isn't necessary for knowing how to drive, but it "heightens the experience." That's when I gave up- without pointing out that I neither drive nor know what makes cars run.

It's stuff like this that's making the switch to early childhood education look so very appealing.

One of these days, I'm going to snap and kill my next-door neighbor. And her boyfriend. I know more about their relationship than I know about some of my friends' relationships. It took me several weeks to figure out that Flint was dating Brianna, but I know the exact status of just how pissed Emily is at Dan on a near-daily basis. Based soley on what I hear SCREAMED THROUGH THE FREAKING WALL. Right now I'm getting a double whammy- I can hear her through the wall, as usual, but as a fun "God-really-loves-me-right-now" bonus, I can hear her through the open window as well! Yes! Because I really hadn't gotten my daily dose of "You're a fucking bastard!" and "You're really making me mad!" No, ya THINK? Her favorite activities seem to be swearing at him, telling him what to think, and chastizing him for not appreciating her enough.

This has been going since at least early winter quarter, if not before then. I may have blocked some of it from my mind.
